How does my incarcerated loved one obtain over the counter medications while in prison?
Pain medications such as Tylenol and a few other medications are to be kept in the officers station. If your loved one needs an over the counter medication, they should ask the housing officer at that time for a single dose.
If the housing officer says they are out of medication, ask them to report it to medical. Then on the next shift have them ask again, if they are still told they are out, file a formal grievance right away to the warden, do not wait. The warden does not want the dorms to be out of these mediations so they will be replaced quickly.
